Jane Goodall Institute: Becoming Jane Exhibition, Hong Kong

Themebuilders creates life-like chimpanzees for the Jane Goodall Institute.

The Jane Goodall Institute is a global non-profit organization dedicated to wildlife research, education and conservation. The primary focus of the institute is “Jane Goodall’s Roots & Shoots”, an education program which empowers young people to care for the environment, the community, and animals through action.

Themebuilders Philippines Inc. designed and built ten different life-size realistic chimpanzees for Globe Creative Limited. The life-like sculptures were installed at the ‘Becoming Jane’ exhibition at the Science Museum in Hong Kong. The exhibition will travel to other cities in Asia.

Extra effort was made to achieve an authentic look and feel for the chimpanzees through research and coordination with the client while intensive detail work was put into the production by dedicated artists at Themebuilders using specially made clay models, rubber and resin implanted with real hair. The final product is proof of the attention to detail and craftsmanship of the artists and skilled professionals at Themebuilders.

Freddy Kimaro of the Jane Goodall Institute Tanzania mentioned when seeing the chimpanzees: ‘amazing detail and these chimps look very healthy’.
