Themebuilders produced realistic figures for “Treasures of Time: A Clockmaker’s Workshop”
#TreasuresOfTime: 🕰️ Themebuilders produced realistic figures for the “Clockmaker’s Workshop” exhibition at the Hong Kong Science Museum. Visitors were taken back to 18th century Europe with this exhibit done in close coordination with Globe Creative. The clockmaker and the assistant’s rubber models were done with incredible precision — from their facial features and skin texture up to their clothes and hair.
This exhibit was attended by 650,000 visitors.

“This exhibition merges science, history and art and gives visitors an opportunity to understand the concept of time and mechanisms of clocks through films, exhibits and displays of exquisite timepieces. For a better understanding of the cultural exchange that also took place, visitors are taken back to 18th century Europe where they enter a working ‘clock tower’ to experience the inner workings of a clock, and a clock maker’s workshop to see the tools and equipment used in European clock making.”

Last 2019, Themebuilders designed and produced 10 realistic chimpanzees for the “Becoming Jane” Exhibition also held at the Hong Kong Science Museum. The team provided concept designs, along with precise sculpting of the chimpanzees’ muscles, facial features, skin texture and their overall built, mold making and rubber casting. The eyes and hairs were given close attention to detail to ensure that the look of an actual chimpanzee was achieved.
