Themebuilders collaborates with Bobbejaanland for Land of Legends
Bobbejaanland opens a new themed area called Land of Legends for 2019. Land of Legends will consist of a newly build Gerstlauer infinity coaster, the existing Typhoon coaster, and the Sledgehammer giant frisbee. The concept for this new area was created by Leisure Expert Group from Amsterdam and the scenic production is provided by Themebuilders Philippines Inc.
This is Leisure Expert Group’s first project together with Bobbejaanland and it has been a ‘very exciting journey’.
“The park was very well aware of what they wanted and about what target group to target. During the design of Land of Legends, we have been inspired by games such as World of Warcraft and movies as Lord of the Rings. We have tried to create a special realm where the help of guests is needed to protect the 4 elements of water, fire, earth and air from evil use”, says Max Reims, Client Expert at Leisure Expert Group.
“We have created the concept for the area which consisted of a storyline synopsis and some sketches based on a market research as conducted by Bobbejaanland”, he says. “After this was approved, we went forward with designing the thematic elements such as the statues and coaster stations in elevations.”
Bobbejaanland used the designs and requested Themebuilders Philippines Inc. to produce most of the scenic elements in their workshop in the Philippines.
“We are very pleased with the opportunity to collaborate with Bobbejaanland and to develop the detailed designs based on the scenic designs by Leisure Expert Group”, says Joanne Ocampo, General Manager of Themebuilders.
High-quality and detailed fiberglass sculptures are being produced such as the four entrance portals and iconic characters like the water monster, the water warriors, the Guardian of the Elements, the Sky Rider, the Witch Cabin, as well as the theming for the new ride station.
“We are convinced that the talent of our artists and skilled workers applied to the overall concept made by LEG will create unique memorable experiences and make Land of Legends one of the signature attractions in Europe for 2019”, says Ocampo.
